WATCH: Nick Mingione Recaps 2023 Season; Austin Cousino Introductory Media Scrum
Kentucky baseball head coach Nick Mingione and new assistant coach Austin Cousino spoke to reporters on Thursday afternoon, looking back at UK's historic 2023 season, the offseason ahead and the future.
Cousino was officially hired to be the Bat Cats new recruiting coordinator and assistant coach on Wednesday, returning after playing for UK from 2012-14, winning two Gold Gloves in the process.
He replaces Will Coggin, who left UK to join Georgia's staff. Kentucky made its second-ever Super Regional appearance this season, losing to LSU, the eventual national champion, in Baton Rouge.
Kentucky has been busy in the transfer portal through June, having currently added four veterans to the 2024 roster — INF Trey Paige (Delaware State), OF Ty Crittenberger (Western Kentucky), RHP Trey Pooser (College of Charleston) and INF Mitch Daly (Texas).
Mingione's scrum can be seen above, while Cousino's can be found below:
