Kentucky basketball remains a No. 2 seed in ESPN's latest Bracketology Report
The Kentucky Wildcats are 1-0 to begin SEC play after securing a hard-fought road victory over the Florida Gators on Saturday, and the win keeps them as a projected No. 2 seed in Joe Lunardi's latest Bracketology Report at ESPN.
Lunardi's projections now have Kentucky as a No. 2 seed in the Midwest Region, where they would open up in Indianapolis in a pod that features in-state opponent Western Kentucky as the No. 15 seed and the automatic qualifier out of Conference USA, as well as No. 7 seed Nevada and No. 10 seed Iowa State, at-large teams from the Mountain West and Big 12, respectively.
The Midwest Region also features the No. 1 overall seed in Purdue, as well as No. 3 Marquette, No. 4 Oklahoma, and No. 5 Creighton.
Only one other SEC team is in the region, Ole Miss, who is now projected as a No. 9 seed after losing their SEC opener to Tennessee.
Kentucky and Ole Miss are two of eight SEC teams projected in the Field of 68, with Florida dropping after the loss to Kentucky. The SEC is now tied with the Big 12 for the most projected teams in the field.
Joining Kentucky and Ole Miss is Tennessee (2), Auburn (3), Alabama (6), Texas A&M (8), South Carolina (9), and Mississippi State (play-in 11).
The Wildcats take on Missouri on Tuesday evening before heading on the road to face the Aggies on Saturday.
