Kentucky basketball signee makes high school basketball history

This Kentucky signee just made history.
In this story:

The Kentucky Wildcats have tons of talent in the 2024 recruiting class.

With five current members of the 2024 recruiting class, Kentucky's class is currently second in all of college hoops behind the Duke Blue Devil, but another late addition would give Kentucky a chance to overtake Duke. We have seen how good the 2023 class has been for Kentucky, and it's safe to say the 2024 class will be just as talented.

One of Kentucky's signees is four-star guard Travis Perry. He is Kentucky's all-time leading scorer in high school hoops and just made more history. Perry recently scored his 5,000th point in his high school basketball career, which makes him tenth all-time in points in high school basketball. He has a chance to climb this list more with the remaining games on Lyon County's schedule. Having watched Perry play live, I can tell you he will be a really good player for the Kentucky Wildcats who will make a lot of threes.

I got to talk to Perry after a recent game, and he had this to say about Coach Calipari and some of Kentucky's players coming to watch him play, "It was really neat, you know. Especially seeing not only Cal but all of the guys out here. You know, we went over to practice today before the game and got to talk to him a little bit, so it's just really neat to have that support for sure."

Perry's ability to shoot the basketball will make him incredibly valuable to Coach Calipari. He will likely come off the bench next season but will be a big part of Kentucky's 2024-25 success.
