Kentucky basketball remains on the outside looking in of the Associated Press Top 25 with just four weeks left in the regular season.

The new poll was released on Monday afternoon, featuring just a pair of teams from the Southeastern Conference. Alabama moved up one spot to No. 3 after remaining undefeated in SEC play, while Tennessee fell four spots to No. 6 after a 1-1 week with a loss at Florida and a win at home against then-No. 25 Auburn.

Coach Bruce Pearl's Auburn Tigers fell out of the rankings due to the 46-43 loss on Rocky Top over the weekend, but are one of four SEC teams — including Kentucky — who received votes, just not enough to crack the top 25.

  • Auburn (28th)
  • Arkansas (35th)
  • Missouri (37th)
  • Kentucky (44th)

The Wildcats extended their SEC winning streak to six games on Saturday night, fighting past Florida 72-67. As a result, UK — which opened the season as the No. 4 team in the nation — received a singular vote in the new poll, placing the Cats at 25th. If they can continue to stack wins, a number next to the Cats' name isn't out of the question by the time the regular season ends, as six of their eight remaining games are currently opportunities for Quadrant 1 victories.

Kentucky returns to the hardwood on Tuesday night, welcoming the Arkansas Razorbacks to Rupp Arena for a 9 p.m. EST tipoff. The game will be televised on ESPN.
