The Kentucky Wildcats lead college basketball in this crucial stat

The Kentucky Wildcats lead college hoops in this important stat.

The Kentucky Wildcats have been incredible scoring the basketball so far this season.

The Wildcats scored 90 points against the Mississippi State Bulldogs, who are considered one of the best defenses in all of college basketball. What this should tell Big Blue Nation is that this team can score on any team in all of college basketball. There are some outstanding defensive teams in the SEC, like Tennessee and Auburn. The Volunteers are number two in adjusted defense on KenPom, with the Tigers being number nine. Heading into the games against these opponents, Kentucky fans can rest assured knowing Kentucky will score.

Kentucky is 16 games into the 2023-24 college basketball season and has a 13-3 (3-1 SEC) record. Through the first 16 games of the season, Kentucky is averaging 90.8 points per game. That average is just ahead of Arizona (90.6) for the best in all of college basketball. It's safe to say that the Kentucky Wildcats have the best offense in all of college basketball.

Kentucky Head Coach John Calipari had this to say about the offense after the win over Mississippi State, "It doesn't matter who the five are on offense. It really doesn't matter. We will score whatever five we put in."

With Kentucky officially taking the crown as the number one offense in college hoops, it should motivate this team to keep getting better and better on defense. If the Cats can get better on the defensive side of things, nothing will stop Kentucky from winning the National Championship.
