Two stock risers from Kentucky's win over the Marshall Thundering Herd
The Kentucky Wildcats hosted the Marshall Thundering Herd in Rupp Arena and were able to win this ball game 118-82.
Kentucky's offense exploded to score more than 100 points for the second time this season.
The Wildcats scored 69 points in the first half, which is crazy to think about.
Kentucky also made 16 three-point baskets in the ball game, extending their streak of making 10+.
Let's take a look at two Wildcats who raised their stock in this ball game.
Antonio Reeves
Antonio Reeves has been incredible for the Cats this season, but it hasn't been discussed as much since all of the freshmen are playing so well. He had 23 points on 8-13 shooting and was 5-7 from deep. Reeves also added four rebounds and an assist to the stat line. This big game has Reeve's season average up to 19 points per game, as we are now six games into the season. Like we said heading into the Kansas game, Reeves needs to play well, and this will be the case again when Kentucky faces Miami in Rupp Arena on Monday. Reeves will be a First Team All-SEC selection if he continues to play like he did against Marshall.
DJ Wagner
While DJ Wagner played well against Saint Joseph's, this game against Marshall was his true coming out party. The freshman scored 28 points on 10-14 shooting. Wagner also added five assists, one rebound, three steals, and a block to his stat line in Kentucky's win over the Herd. Wagner scored all over the court, including two threes, a few midrange jumpers, and a ton of buckets around the rim. The Wagner we saw against Marshall is who we have been expecting to see all season. The Wagner this team needs conveniently showed up right before the Cats will take on #10 Miami, which is huge for the Kentucky.
