The Wildcats are getting to host one of the best players in the 2024 class this weekend.
Five-star shooting guard VJ Edgecombe is taking a visit with Kentucky basketball this weekend, per Travis Branham of 247Sports.
Edgecombe, a 6-foot-5 shooting guard out of Long Island Lutheran High School in Glen Head, New York, has been offered by the Wildcats, per Travis Branham of 247Sports.
Edgecombe is the No. 6 overall prospect and the No. 2 small forward in the nation according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings. He is listed as a shooting guard is a small forward in the rankings system.
Branham broke down his game in a recent article.
"He's one of the most explosive athletes in all of high school. And with his improved half-court skillset, he's become an impactful slasher. He's has added changes of direction, tightened his handle and is now capable of operating in traffic while creating for others. He's also making shots from deep... Edgecombe has a mixture of a high floor and a high ceiling. His recruitment illustrates that as he has become one of the most coveted players in the nation."
