2023 Iverson Classic Roster Includes Four Kentucky Signees
It's that time of the year around high school basketball and the recruiting trail. Showcases, all-star games and classics alike are being revealed, prepping the college basketball world for the next set of diaper dandies.
This time, it's the 2023 Iverson Classic that's announced its roster, doing so on Monday. Included in the star-studded group of players are four future Kentucky Wildcats and 5-stars — DJ Wagner, Justin Edwards, Aaron Bradshaw and Rob Dillingham.
The nods are no surprise, as all four soon-to-be Cats are considered top-10 recruits in the class, with Wagner, Edwards and Bradshaw all being named the No. 1 of the bunch at some point in time throughout the major recruiting services.
Both Wagner and Edwards were named to the 2023 Nike Hoops Summit, which will take place on April 8 in Portland, Ore. The same pair, plus Bradshaw and four-star UK commit Reed Sheppard were all tabbed to the illustrious McDonald's All-American game, which will take place in Houston on March 28.
The Memphis-based Iverson Classic is yet to announce a date. Kentucky freshmen Cason Wallace and Chris Livingston were both selected to the roster a year ago. UK has had a signee take part in the event every year since 2017, the year it debuted.
“I couldn’t be more excited about this class,” Kentucky head coach John Calipari said of his 2023 class. “We have five talented and dynamic players who have the drive and commitment it takes to succeed at Kentucky."
