Kentucky has cracked the top five for a 3-star wide receiver in the 2024 class.ย

Coming out of Elmore County High School in Eclectic, Ala., Jabari Murphy is considering the Wildcats and four other Power 5 programs:

  • Kentucky
  • Ole Miss
  • Mississippi State
  • West Virginia
  • Penn State

Murphy is the No. 819 overall player, No. 112 wide receiver and No. 35 player out of Alabama in the class, per the On3 Consensus. He took an unofficial visit to Kentucky on Jan 15, 2022 and has also made stops in Oxford and Starkville. Both Mississippi schools are thought to be the favorites in the recruitment.ย

As a junior for Elmore last season, Murphy caught 55 passes for 793 yards and 10 touchdowns, while also rushing for 79 yards and a score. He has found the end zone 22 times across his three seasons in high school.ย

Wide receivers coach Scott Woodward is leading UK's recruitment of theย 6-foot-2, 195-pounder.ย "I really like their wide receiver coach (Woodward), they like to throw the ball in the air and thatโ€™s what Iโ€™m all about," Murphy told Rivals' Sean Williams.ย
