To no surprise, Cutter Boley is staying home.

On Thursday morning, the highly-touted 4-star quarterback out of Lexington Christian Academy announced his decision, committing to the University of Kentucky, choosing the hometown Wildcats over Tennessee, Michigan, Florida State and Penn State.

"It's been a blessing to go through this process," Boley said during his announcement at LCA.

Boley is the No. 39 overall player, No. 3 quarterback and No. 1 player in the state of Kentucky in the 2025 class, per the On3 Consensus. His stock is high with Rivals, as the recruiting service has him ranked as the No. 12 overall player and No. 2 QB in the class.

Update: On3's Chad Simmons has since reported that Boley will be reclassifying to the 2024 class. Boley has since confirmed, noting that he will enroll at UK in January 2024.

Per 247Sports' Composite Rankings, Boley is the fifth highest ranked recruit and highest ranked QB to commit to Kentucky since 2000:

  1. OT Antonio Hall (0.9946) (Class of 2000)
  2. ILB Micah Johnson (0.9934) (Class of 2006)
  3. OT Kiyaunta Goodwin (0.9823) (Class of 2022)
  4. DT Justin Rogers (0.9744) (Class of 2020)
  5. QB Cutter Boley (0.9687) (Class of 2024)

He's taken at least seven visits to Lexington and currently has an official visit scheduled for the weekend of June 9, joining 2024 commits Hayes Johnson, Aba Selm and a host of other available recruits.

Tennessee was the early favorite in Boley's recruitment, but UK made its feelings about the gunslinger known and did what it needed to to lock down the humongous commitment.

The 6-foot-5, 203-pounder originally wasn't planning on committing until later in the summer, but he announced he was moving his decision up shortly after releasing his top 10 on May 13 — which also included Alabama, Michigan, Oregon, Notre Dame and TCU.

While the decision to come to UK was an expected one, it's still a large moment for head coach Mark Stoops and especially offensive coordinator Liam Coen — perhaps the driving force to keeping Boley in the Bluegrass.

Boley previously told On3's Simmons “I like that Liam (Coen) is coming back and how they had the offense going with him two years ago."

The Hodgenville, Ky. native will eventually make his official arrival on campus, and along with it will come massive expectations. For LCA in 2022, he threw for 3,901 yards, 36 touchdowns and 15 interceptions.

The Cats have landed their hopeful QB of the future.
