In-State Tight End Willie Rodriguez Commits to Kentucky
Kentucky head coach Mark Stoops and the Wildcats now have a fourth in-state commitment for the 2024 recruiting class.
On Friday morning, 3-star tight end Willie Rodriguez pledged to UK on Kentucky Sports Radio. The Covington Catholic High School product joins 3-star offensive linemen Hayes Johnson and Aba Selm, as well as blue-chip 4-star quarterback Cutter Boley as Kentuckians who have committed to the Cats.
The decision was no surprise, as Kentucky was the leader for the No. 885 overall player, No. 45 TE and No. 4 player in Kentucky (On3 Consensus). He was in Lexington for an official visit on June 9, following OVs to Purdue and Virginia Tech.
Recruiting coordinator and tight ends coach Vince Marrow locked down the Covington, Ky. native, capping off a humongous recruiting week for UK. Rodrgiuez joins 3-star OL Jadon Lafontant, kicker/punter specialist Jacob Kauwe and 3-star running back Tovani Mizell as recruits to commit to UK since Monday.
The 6-foot-4, 225-pounder is now the ninth addition to the '24 class. The dice stay hot in the Bluegrass.
