Less than two months after offering Ahmad Nowell, Kentucky basketball is in the final four for the 4-star two-guard.

On3's Joe Tipton reported on Monday that Nowell is down to four schools — Kentucky, UConn, Georgia Tech and Tennessee:

Nowell is ranked as the No. 40 overall player and No. 10 shooting guard in the class, per the On3 Consensus. He hails from Philadelphia and plays for Imhotep Charter, the same high school as incoming UK 5-star freshman Justin Edwards.

Head coach John Calipari and the Cats offered Nowell on April 23 after spending time on the Nike EYBL Circuit. Nowell told Kentucky Sports Radio's Jack Pilgrim that he is planning on making a visit to Lexington before Kentucky leaves for its GLOBL JAM trip to Toronto in the middle of July. He has already taken official visits to the other three finalists.

Originally from Germantown, Tenn., the Volunteers were seen as early favorites. Now, the race for the 6-foot-1, 185-pound SG is up for grabs between the top four candidates.

Kentucky is still awaiting its first commitment for the '24 class, though it is in the running for multiple blue-chippers, including Karter Knox, Boogie Fland and Nowell. The Cats are welcoming a whopping seven freshmen to campus ahead of the 2023-24 season.
