Kentucky Offers In-State Tight End Willie Rodriguez
Both of Kentucky's current commits in the 2024 class are in-state products, as are four of the Wildcats' 19 additions via the 2023 class.
Locking down the Bluegrass has remained a priority for head coach Mark Stoops and recruiting coordinator Vince Marrow. On Wednesday, it extended an offer to another player from the state.
Willie Rodriguez, a 3-star tight end out of Covington Catholic High School in Covington, Ky. announced that he has received an official offer from UK:
Ranked as the No. 31 TE in the class and No. 4 player in the state, Rodriguez adds Kentucky to a host of other offers, including the likes of Ole Miss, South Carolina, Arkansas, Notre Dame, Indiana and Pittsburgh.
He has taken a trio of unofficial visits to Lexington, most recently on March 25. He has also taken three to Louisville and Cincinnati, as well as a pair to Notre Dame.
Kentucky recently missed on 3-star tight end Gavin Grover, who committed to Cincinnati over the Wildcats and West Virginia. A pair of freshmen in Khamari Anderson and Tanner LeMaster will add to the TE room in 2023.
Rodriguez could follow in the footsteps of tight ends Izayah Cummings and Jordan Dingle, choosing to stay in-state, coming to Kentucky.
