Kentucky Offers Up-and-Coming 2025 Guard Darius Acuff
The beauty of the AAU circuits is young prospects appearing on the radar of coaches as recruiting season takes center stage. It may not always be about the 5-stars that already hold offers from every program under the sun.
Kentucky and head coach John Calipari had already dished out two offers after taking in Nike EYBL action in Atlanta, but a third, unranked name officially plopped onto the radar on Monday.
Darius Acuff, a 6-foot-1 point guard out of Cass Techincal in Detroit, has announced an offer from the Wildcats:
Playing for The Family, Acuff was recognized as the top underclassmen on the circuit over the weekend, while also making the Second Team. He averaged 18.2 points, 4.2 rebounds and 4.0 assists across four games. Cass Tech won the Michigan Division I State Championship last season with Acuff leading the way, averaging over 21 points-per-game.
After offering 5-star 2025 forward Koa Peat and 4-star 2024 guard Ahmad Nowell, Acuff becomes the third player to earn an offer from Kentucky in the last few days. He's also now the third member of the 2025 class to hold an offer from UK, joining Peat and 5-star shooting guard Darryn Peterson.
Kentucky joins Michigan and Nebraska as schools to offer the guard. It's expected that his total number of offers will skyrocket over the course of the summer. It's never too late to build an early lead in recruiting battle, something Kentucky could be on the cusp of with Acuff.
