Kentucky Makes Top Three for 3-Star Tight End Gavin Grover
Kentucky football has found out the hard way this spring that a team can never have enough capable tight ends.
With the likes of Brenden Bates, Jordan Dingle and Josh Kattus all on the shelf, the Wildcats and offensive coordinator Liam Coen haven't gotten to see what could be a focal point of their offense in 2023 at full strength.
A pair of freshmen in Khamari Anderson and Tanner LeMaster will add to the TE room along with veteran wide receiver/tight end combo Izayah Cummings. Now, UK is paying extra attention to this up-and-coming tight end in the 2024 recruiting class — Gavin Grover.
A 3-star out of Olentangy High School in Lewis Center, Ohio, the 6-foot-6, 226-pounder announced his top three schools on Tuesday — Kentucky, Cincinnati and West Virginia:
Ranked as the No. 682 player, No. 32 TE and No. 26 player in Ohio by the On3 Consensus, Grover has taken four unofficial visits to Cincinnati, three to UK and two to WVU. Recruiting coordinator Vince Marrow has led the Wildcats' attempt to land the Ohioan, and Kentucky does appear to be the favorite.
Grover's last visit to Lexington came on March 28. All signs point to an eventual commitment for UK's 2024 class, which currently features just a pair on in-state offensive linemen — 3-stars Hayes Johnson and Aba Selm.
