Louisville Secures Commitment from '24 OL Jimmy Williams
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Louisville football program has landed yet another Class of 2024 commitment following their spring game.
Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) American Heritage offensive lineman Jimmy Williams announced Tuesday that he has given his verbal pledge to the Cardinals. He chose Louisville over held offers from Duke, Pitt, Syracuse, UCF and others.
He is the second offensive line prospect in the 2024 cycle to commit to Louisville following their spring game last Friday, where he was one of several dozen high school prospects in attendance. Class of 2024 offensive lineman Ransom McDermott also gave his verbal pledge on Saturday.
Louisville has secured four commitments overall since the spring game. Former Rutgers offensive tackle Willie Tyler pulled the trigger on Sunday and former North Carolina safety Cam'Ron Kelly commit did so on Monday.
The 6-foot-4, 290-pound offensive tackle is ranked as the No. 113 offensive tackle and No. 177 prospect in the talent-rich state of Florida by 247Sports' in-house rankings. This past season, he helped American Heritage go 13-2 with a berth in the Class 2M state championship. With his assistance on the line, the Patriots rushed 3,090 yards and 46 touchdowns on the year, with 1,934 yards and 23 touchdowns coming from 2023 Miami signee Mark Fletcher.
Louisville now sports a five-man recruiting class in the 2024 cycle with Williams' commitment. On top of Williams and McDermott, linebacker T.J. Capers, running back Isaac Brown and quarterback Deuce Adams are also in the fold.
