Georgia Southern Transfer OL Rasheed Miller Commits to Louisville
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Louisville football program is continuing to bolster their offensive line through the transfer portal.
Rasheed Miller, an offensive tackle who spent the first four years of his collegiate career at Georgia Southern, announced Saturday that he has committed to play his final season of eligibility with the Cardinals.
Miller is the third transfer commitment of the day for Louisville, following former Houston offensive tackle Reuben Unije and former Oklahoma safety Daeh McCullough. The Cardinals have landed four portal pickups over the last two days, with former Toledo running back Peny Boone committing on Friday.
The massive 6-foot-7, 310-pound lineman started all 13 games for Georgia Southern this season, splitting time between left and right tackle, and was one of the best offensive linemen in the Sun Belt. In 527 pass block snaps and 796 blocking snaps overall, Miller allowed only four sacks, five quarterback hits and 22 hurries, taking home Second-Team All-Sun Belt honors for his efforts.
The Lake Wales, Fla, native redshirted his first season with the Eagles in 2021, then played 14 total snaps (three on offense, 11 on special teams) in three games the next season. Miller's role took a step forward for his redshirt sophomore campaign in 2022, playing in nine games with one start and only allowing one pressure in 55 blocking snaps.
Louisville has been decisive when it comes to recruiting offensive linemen out of the portal. Miller is now the sixth offensive lineman to commit the the Cardinals following Yale tackle Jonathan Mendoza, NIU center Pete Nygra, Ohio State tackle Victor Cutler, Texas Tech tackle Monroe Mills and Houston tackle Reuben Unije.
These additions help offset some heavy losses on the line. Between graduation and the transfer portal, Louisville is in line to lose seven offensive linemen from the current roster, including three starters.
The Cardinals have now landed 20 transfer commitments, while also seeing 18 scholarship players of their own enter the portal during the winter transfer window.
The Cardinals finished their 2023 season with an overall mark of 10-4 (7-1 in ACC) including a berth in the program's first ever ACC Championship Game, but ended year one under head coach Jeff Brohm on a three-game losing streak.
