After being benched in their previous matchup against Florida State, an injury to Emory Williams brought the Tyler Van Dyke experience back again this season.

For Miami to win this game, Van Dyke just needed to avoid turning the ball over and the Hurricanes had to not beat themselves. Despite Van Dyke doing his part, a costly fourth quarter mistake led to Miami losing this one.

On Louisville's eventual game-winning touchdown Miami defense backs Te'Cory Couch and Jaden Davis collided, allowing Cardinals' receiver Kevin Coleman to score from 58 yards out. Miami had a chance to tie it twice but fell short during both of their chances as they moved to 6-5 on the season.

Despite putting up 38 points, nobody on Louisville truly dominated. Jake Plummer threw for 308 yards and three touchdowns as the Cardinals put up 470 yards of total offense. Twelve different receivers caught passes for Louisville, as the ball was spread all around the field.

Louisville has now officially locked in their spot in the ACC Championship game as they'll face the Florida State Seminoles.

Miami's offense today was powered by true freshman running back Mark Fletcher Jr., who had 151 scrimmage yards and two touchdowns on the day. This makes it twice this season that the South Florida native has gone over 100 yards on the day.

Xavier Restrepo also went over 100 yards, as the connection with Van Dyke remains one of the strongest in the ACC. He totaled eight catches for 193 yards and a score, as his final catch of the game came short of tying it.

Where Miami struggled this game was on the defensive line as they were a non-threat this game, recording no sacks and just two QB hits on Louisville. Plummer's only major mistake on the day came on an interception, in which Kamren Kinchen's hauled in his fifth pick of the season.

Miami has two more games left on their schedule for the season, with their matchup against Boston College on November 24th and their bowl game to be announced. Still with a chance to win eight games this season, Miami can still end this season on a bright note.
