Former Hurricane Warren Sapp Joining Deion Sanders at Colorado
Former Miami Hurricane Warren Sapp will join the coaching staff for the Colorado Buffales.
According to head coach Deion Sanders, Sapp is already helping the Buffaloes from his time spent around the program. Here's a unique quote from Sanders about Sapp:
“After practice, he was in the hot tub with the whole darn defensive line, and he was just going over stuff and it was unbelievable. There’s probably 4,000 pounds in the hot tub."
In general, Sanders is definitely happy to have Sapp join his Colorado football program. Here’s a quote from coach Prime discussing that point:
“I’m excited about Coach Sapp,” Sanders said Wednesday. “He’s a dear friend that I love to life, and he’s going to be invaluable to what he brings to the table. As far as the recruits as well, they’re going to love him.”
As for Sapp, he was on the Miami roster from 1992 through 1994. He's one of the most dominant players in UM history, Sapp is also an NFL Hall of Fame member, being inducted in 2013. He was a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 1995 through 2003, and then the Oakland Raiders from 2004 through 2007.
He was the NFL's Defensive Player of the Year in 1999, was a mainstay for the Buccaneers' 2002 Super Bowl-winning team, and finished his NFL career with 96.5 sacks.
