Isaiah Taylor Transferring To Miami Hurricanes

Jason Taylor's son will join him at the University of Miami
In this story:

James Williams and Kamren Kinchens are heading to the 2024 NFL Draft after forgoing their final year of eligibility. That's leaving a huge hole at Miami's safety position.

The Canes are already adding Vanderbilt safety Savion Riley to their roster, and now Miami defensive line coach and NFL Hall of Fame inductee Jason Taylor will have his son with him and the Hurricanes, too.

Taylor will be a redshirt junior this next season. Here are the three-year statistics for the 5-foot-11 and 200-pound safety originally from Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Saint Thomas Aquinas.

2021: In four games, Taylor had 1 tackle (redshirt season).

2022: In 11 games, 40 tackles, 2 tackles for loss, 1 interception, and 2 pass breakups.

2023: In 10 games, 15 tackles.

Miami's depth chart will also have key reserves competing for starting spots like redshirt sophomore Jaden Harris and redshirt sophomore Markeith Williams. The latter safety could be a leading candidate to start after playing well versus Rutgers in the Pinstripe Bowl.
