Last week, the Miami Hurricanes were ranked #22 in the Associated Press Poll. This week, the Hurricanes have reached the No. 20 spot in the AP Poll.

With Miami’s dominant 48-7 win over Bethune-Cookman, it’s evidence that the Canes not only show up for the big games like the 48-33 win over Texas A&M.

The voters have taken notice. This football team has been far more consistent than the vast majority of other college football teams. One could even argue that the Hurricanes have been placed too low at #20 in the country.

The Hurricanes have shown a big-play offense with 17 passing plays of 20 or more yards, and also a running back depth chart with five players averaging over 5 yards per carry.

The defense has come up big when it needed to as well, like weathering the storm during the early portion of the Texas A&M game, and dominating versus Miami of Ohio and Bethune-Cookman. Individually, the Canes have made noise, too.

How many safeties have played better than Miami's James Williams? He's accumulated 15 total tackles and broke up two passes.

Middle linebacker Francisco Mauigoa has been one of the nation's best Transfer Portal additions with 15 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss and a caused fumble.

Offensively, how about Xavier Restrepo? He delivered 246 receiving yards during the last two games alone, and 314 for the season so far. Several other Canes have made impacts as well. It's been a tremendous turnaround.

The next game for the Hurricanes will not be against a ranked opponent. Miami travels to Philadelphia to play at Temple
