The Miami Hurricanes win the battle for Chance Robinson. The South Florida talent sticks with Miami despite overtures from numerous programs across the country.

Chance Robinson

Size: 6-foot-2, 190 pounds

Position: Wide Receiver

High School: Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Saint Thomas Aquinas

Recruitment: Robinson's recruitment came down to the final couple of months despite making a pledge to the Hurricanes on April 14, 2023. Ohio State and Ole Miss made the strongest runs at flipping the life-long Canes fan from Mario Cristobal and his coaching staff.

Strengths: Speed is obvious to anyone who watches Robinson play. Even against top-notch South Florida cornerbacks, Robinson uses his explosiveness to stack cornerbacks and get behind the secondary overall. He's more than just a fast wide receiver.

Another trait to consider would be Robinson's strength. When competing for 50-50 passes, he's often able to out-muscle the opposition. In fact, Robinson plays with a physical nature that's necessary to be a blocker in the run game as well.

Areas to Improve: He's often been so much more physically talented than many of the players he's gone against that Robinson hits the proverbial home run by catching deep passes.

At the college level, there's room for Robinson to continue to improve his combination route running, i.e. running his routes in a manner that benefits himself and the other receivers within that particular play. After Robinson becomes adept in this area, he's practically unguardable.

From the 2024 Miami Commitments and Evaluations page, here’s what AllHurricanes wrote about Robinson:

"What helped to make Robinson an even better all-around receiver than other players at his position with speed would be his quick feet at the line, and mixing up moves near the line of scrimmage to quickly gain separation from cornerbacks. Robinson's skills have also included taking short passes and making defenders miss in space to gain big yardage after the catch."
