Miami Hurricanes National Signing Day Profile: Wide Receiver Ny Carr
The Miami Hurricanes are adding speedy wide receiver Ny Carr to the 2024 recruiting class. One of the nation's most sought-after prospects, Carr is a playmaker with the football in his hands as a receiver or return man.
Ny Carr
Size: 5-foot-11, 170 pounds
Position: Wide Receiver
High School: Moultrie (Ga.) Colquitt County
Recruitment: Originally a Georgia commitment before making a pledge to Mario Cristobal and the Canes on Oct. 8, 2023. Many other schools made offers to Carr as well, including wide receiver factory Ohio State. Tennessee, Auburn, Florida State, Michigan, Florida, and many others also came after Carr.
Strengths: Carr is a make-you-miss player who also has elite straight-line speed. His stop-and-start moves can create major yards after the catch. His skills will also allow him to be a receiver that's used in the slot or out wide to the field.
Finally, much like current Miami receiver Nathaniel "Ray Ray" Joseph, Carr is a player that can be used with a variety of trick plays and as a return man. The objective is the same. Get Carr the football in space and watch him work.
Areas to Improve: Continue to learn the nuances of wide receiver play, like any young prospect. Plus, he needs to add a little bit more weight. Speed is Carr's game, but another 10 pounds of muscle would do him well.
From the 2024 Miami Commitments and Evaluations page, here’s what AllHurricanes wrote about Carr:
"Electric playmaker in the slot, out wide, or within the return game. Do not allow Carr's size to fool you; he's capable of grabbing 50-50 balls that are thrown down the field, too. After he secures the football in his hands, Carr is one of the nation's most prolific players at making defenders miss."
