The Miami Hurricanes have been very active with the Transfer Portal since Mario Cristobal took over the program on Dec. 6, 2021. and there were players that just entered the Portal that make one believe that trend will continue.

No question, Miami will be expected to continue that trend.

Will the Canes take a hard look at any of the players below? Based on their talent, each of them will probably be vetted by the Canes coaching staff and many others across Power 5 schools.

Mycah Pittman, Wide Receiver, Florida State

After playing for Oregon from 2019 through 2021, Pittman moved on to play for FSU and head coach Mike Norvell. He can play multiple spots like slot or outside, and he’s proven as well.

Pittman’s 2022 statistics included 32 receptions, 330 yards, 10.3 average, and 3 touchdowns.

Pittman was also a punt and return man. It will be interesting to see where he ends up next.

Omarion Cooper, Cornerback, Florida State

This young man can run. From Lehigh Acres (Fla.) Lehigh, Cooper was a 247 Sports composite 4-star recruit and ranked No. 289 in the country. Offers from Miami, FSU, Florida, Michigan, Penn State, Texas, Arkansas, Tennessee, and Kentucky, among others, also provided proof of Cooper's talent level.

For FSU, Cooper played in 12 games last fall as a true freshman. He picked off one pass, caused a fumble, and recorded 14 tackles.

What makes Cooper attractive to college programs would be coverage skills, however. Cooper will have many suitors.

Jamarrien Burt, Safety/Cornerback, Oklahoma

He was a very talented recruit coming out of Ocala (Fla.) Forest before signing with the Sooners. Burt had offers from programs like Penn State, Utah, Florida and Georgia among others.

Burt only played in 3 games and recorded a single tackle. That being the case, Burt’s ability to play multiple spots in the secondary will have multiple people coming after him. Cannot teach his natural length either, as he's 6-foot and 185-pounds.

Damond Harmon, Safety, Oklahoma

Harmond did not play much in 2021, but 2022 saw him record 18 tackles and play in 10 games. He was a 4-star by 247 Sports, coming out of Highland Springs (Va.) High School.

He’s not the biggest player at 6-0 and 180 pounds. Still, he could be a single-high safety that runs sideline to sideline.

Overall, it's hard to project which specific players Miami will even take a serious look at, let alone land. That stated, the above players were great examples of talented players that will find another college football program and probably soon.
