Miami Hurricanes Star Signs NIL Deal With Fortune 500 Company
Transfer quarterback Cam Ward is looking to reach new levels both on and off the field at the University of Miami.
Ward left Washington State after putting up massive numbers in Pullman without a top supporting cast. When he entered the Transfer Portal in December, he immediately became one of the most sought after commodities. He temporarily declared for the NFL Draft but opted in mid-January to play one final collegiate season with the Miami Hurricanes. He's looking to increase his NFL stock and compete for an ACC Championship. He can also increase his off the field brand in South Florida.
On3's Pete Nakos reported Saturday that Ward has signed a multi-year NIL agreement with a Fortune 500 company. Ward and his parents, Calvin and Patrice, will star in a national marketing campaign.
Ward told On3, “I’m excited about the partnership because I’m really close with my family, so to be able to do a campaign with them is going to be really fun.”
The company has not been revealed yet, but there are twenty Fortune 500 brands based in Florida, according to a 2023 estimate.
Ward entering into a massive deal like this one serves as a sensational advertisement for the branding power of playing football in Miami. South Florida has become a tech hub in recent years, with companies flocking to the state due to tax policies conducive to growth and affordable real estate compared to Silicon Valley.
