Tyrique Stevenson Continues To Display His Skills Leading Up To The NFL Draft
After the 2020 season, Tyrique Stevenson decided to head back home to the Miami Hurricanes and leave the SEC powerhouse Georgia Bulldogs. If Stevenson stayed, he would've been a national champion. However, he returned home and has a great chance to become a Day 2 draft pick.
Stevenson has been great throughout this pre-draft process, as he first put teams on alert with his play at the Senior Bowl. His coverage skills along with his great size at corner, Stevenson has made himself a solid prospect at the position.
With this past week in Indianapolis, Stevenson like Will Mallory continued his run of success at the NFL Combine. His combine results were as follows:
40-Yard Dash - 4.45 seconds
10-Yard Split - 1.51 seconds
Vertical Leap - 38.5 inches
Broad Jump - 10 feet 5 inches
3-Cone Drill - 7.09 seconds
20-Yard Shuttle - 4.41 seconds
Taking into account these results and his measurables, Stevenson finished with a Relative Athletic Score (RAS) of 8.63 placing him amongst the top 86.3% of athletes at the position.
While some other corner backs may have tested better than Stevenson, his performance at the Senior Bowl continues to keep him around the Top 10 at the position.
Stevenson has been mocked as high as the first round for the upcoming April draft, but with over a month left before the NFL Draft, his likely position won't be known until closer to April.
If Stevenson were to land in the first round, he would be the first Miami defensive back drafted that high since Artie Burns in 2016.
