The Miami Hurricanes missed out on a top linebacker target in James Nesta that just picked the Oklahoma Sooners.

Even so, Miami had already secured the verbal commitment of Vincent Shavers from Miami (Fla.) Central, and three other linebacker prospects have or will visit this month.

Keyshawn Flowers, Severn (Md.) Archbishop Spalding

Dylan Williams, Long Beach (Calif.) Poly

Chris Cole, Salem (Va.) High School

Flowers would probably be the best bet to end up with the Canes from that group, at least from the outside looking in. He had a pretty good visit to Miami and things did not go as well, allegedly during his Notre Dame visit this past weekend.

As for Williams, Oregon and UCLA would be the teams to most likely watch out for with this young man. The Ducks have been red hot in recruiting this year and they've done a tremendous job in the greater Los Angeles area, too.

Finally, Cole would be the hardest to project. He has family ties to Miami with his uncle having played for the Canes. Remember Rohan "Rat" Marley, the linebacker? Yep, that's Cole's uncle.

He's had a tremendous number of schools come after him. This past weekend's visit to Georgia was really good for Cole, so that's a concern. Cole will be making the trip to Coral Gables this weekend though.
