Miami Hurricanes National Signing Day: Top South Florida WR Joshisa Trader Stays Home To Play For Canes
A priority for Miami Hurricanes head coach Mario Cristobal has been keeping elite South Florida recruits home. That goal was realized by this top-notch wide receiver.
Joshisa Trader
Size
: 6 feet, 175 pounds
Position
: Wide Receiver
High School
: Miami (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna
Recruitment: From a recruitment that was national before Joshisa Trader's junior year was completed, he chose Miami over Florida State, Ohio State, Florida, Georgia, Penn State, and many other college football programs. Trader was a top-100 recruit for the duration of his high school career by the majority of recruiting publications.
Strengths: Trader's ability to snag a football in traffic and make it look easy has been displayed numerous times throughout his prep career. One could have even argued Trader's hands were the best in the entire 2024 class, regardless of state.
Having played in the slot and out wide, Trader's versatility also helped him gain a better perspective of the wide receiver position. By having enrolled early this January, expect Trader to make a freshman impact.
From the 2024 Miami Commitments and Evaluations page, here’s what AllHurricanes wrote about Trader after the football was in his hands:
A player who has consistently been able to run crisp routes, Trader also does really well after the catch. His ability to stop-and-start has kept defenders off guard, and the lateral quickness to change direction, even if for just a couple of steps, that allowed him to create big plays has been commonplace.
Area to improve: Hitting the weight room has been the biggest area to improve for Trader. After he's added 10 to 15 pounds, he's going to be even harder to contain.
