Ryan Mack Commits to Miami!
The Miami Hurricanes have continued to grow their 2024 recruiting class, this time landing cornerback prospect Ryan Mack.
Coming from famed Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Saint Thomas Aquinas, Mack has been on the recruiting scene for a couple of years and has impressed. He was even the defensive back MVP of the 2022 Miami Under Armour Camp.
Today he was in attendance for the Legends Camp, hosted on the campus of the University of Miami. That’s when he effectively decided to become a Hurricane.
During his recruitment, Miami, Alabama, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Florida State, Colorado, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Maryland, and Louisville offered among others.
The 5-foot-11 and 170-pound cornerback has become the No. 13 commitment for the Canes. As for how he can play in Miami’s defense, a few thoughts.
Mack should be considered a technician. He’s good at mirroring receivers in coverage. Being a cornerback at 5-11, that could allow him to play nickel cornerback as well.
Zone or man coverage, Mack would be a good addition to the nickel spot. That's certainly something to think about beyond him playing a traditional outside cornerback role. Finally, one more note about Mack.
As All Hurricanes writer and Locked On Canes podcaster Alex Donno likes to say, “Welcome to The UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!!”
