Samari Reed Will Be A Top South Florida Recruit

Breaking down Samari Reed's game
In this story:

The Miami Hurricanes are one of the several college football programs trying to gain a commitment from a top-notch South Florida recruit.

Coconut Creek (Fla.) Monarch four-star wide receiver Samari Reed holds offers from Florida, Florida State, Miami, Texas A&M, Penn State, Auburn, and several more high-level schools.

So, what makes the 6-foot-2, 180-pound wide receiver a hot commodity in the recruiting world?

He is a multi-dimensional athlete. Reed's high school has him playing wide receiver to kick return on special teams. his height creates mismatches against corners and safeties, with soft hands to catch the toughest of passes. That's an inviting combination for a quarterback to throw the football to.

Reed provides the agility to juke or outrun a defender in open space, even if the pass is not on target and does not catch him in stride. In his junior year highlights, he breaks tackles and gets chunk-yardage plays that help change games. His physical attributes certainly help him maximize on the gridiron, no matter the competition.

Reed takes advantage of mismatches, and he also wins against top-notch players. Against Jacksonville (Fla.) Mandarin, he won reps against two different cornerbacks heading to Penn State. That's a great sign.

Plays like that are part of the reason in-state schools want to sign Samari Reed, and also Power Four programs across the nation want him at their schools as well.

Here are Samari Reed's junior highlights.
