Speedy IMG Receiver Jerrae Hawkins Planning Miami Visit
There's no denying that head coach Mario Cristobal is starting to establish a pipeline from Bradenton to Coral Gables. Miami currently has seven former IMG Academy alum on their roster, and it looks like they want to keep that number growing.
Per release by recruitingnewsguru.com, there's an IMG receiver who has his eyes on a visit down to the U.
Jerrae Hawkins is a four-star receiver in the class of 2024, who currently holds 17 offers according to his 247Sports page.
Hawkins is a track star, as he recently posted a 10.3 100 meter dash time a few weeks back.
Coming in at 5-foot-9 and 165 pounds, Hawkins can be an absolute burner in the slot or in go-route situations on the outside.
As a note, Hawkins carries a similar physical profile to new offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson's top option at Houston last season Nathaniel "Tank" Dell. Dell ended up going at the top of the third round in this years past NFL Draft.
With the scheme that Dawson is implementing in Coral Gables, Hawkins has the skillset to be a big time weapon in the new offense.
However, Hawkins currently has three official visits on the schedule with West Virginia, Penn State and Florida set.
Hawkins did express his interest to come down to South Florida for a visit, but nothing is official as of yet.
Miami currently holds seven commits in the 2024 recruiting class, ranking 26th overall.
