Injury Report: Michigan State lists 8 players 'Out' vs. Richmond

The Spartans are missing a couple key players for today's game...

We're just under two hours until kickoff between Michigan State and Richmond, and the Spartans have released their injury report, per Big Ten Conference rules.

Wide receiver Alante Brown, who was injured on the opening kickoff last week against Central Michigan, is listed as 'Out' today for MSU. It was reported this week that Brown was in concussion protocol.

For the second consecutive week, Michigan State lists linebackers Darius Snow and Ma'a Gaoteote as 'Out'. Defensive backs Semar Melvin and Harold Joiner III, defensive linemen Jarrett Jackson and Alex VanSumeren, and offensive linemen Gavin Brocious are all unavailable today for the Spartans. Each of those players were on last week's injury report as well.

Running back Jaren Mangham, the transfer from South Florida, is listed as 'Questionable' for the second straight week. Mangham did not play in Game 1 against CMU. We'll see if he makes his way on the field today.

As for positive news, starting center Nick Samac is no longer listed on the injury report. Samac was 'Questionable' ahead of the Central Michigan game, but did play against the Chippewas. It appears the redshirt senior is good to go today.

Another name not on the injury report this week who was listed last week is true freshman offensive lineman Stanton Ramil, who announced on Twitter two weeks ago that he had undergone successful surgery to repair a knee injury suffered during fall camp. While no official word has been provided, it's likely that Ramil will not play this season.
