LOOK: Michigan State reveals uniforms for season-opener vs. Central Michigan

The Spartans will break in new Nike uniforms in Week 1 against the Chippewas...

We are two days away from Michigan State football's season-opener against Central Michigan. In less than 48 hours, we'll see the Spartans take the field for the 100th season at Spartan Stadium.

And now, we know what uniform combination the Spartan Dawgs will don against the Chippewas after MSU Football's social media accounts released a reveal video on Wednesday night.

Michigan State will "stripe the stadium" on Friday night, with the Spartan Stadium even sections set to wear green while the odd and student section will wear white. The Spartans match that concept with this week's uniform combination. MSU will wear green helmets with the traditional Spartan logo, with green jerseys and white pants. The Spartans will also wear green gloves with white cleats and accessories.

This is a traditional look for Michigan State, but it will be the first for the Spartans in their new Nike uniforms — the first-ever Dri-fit uniforms developed by the popular sportswear company.

This is the combination I expected from MSU after it was announced that Spartan Stadium would be striped for the season-opener. I'm looking forward to seeing how the new Nike Dri-fits look on the field, and get my first look at the new 'Greek key' helmet stripe.

Michigan State vs. Central Michigan will kick off at 7 p.m. with the game being broadcast on FS1.
