Mississippi State Selects New Coach on The Joe Gaither Show
It's been a whirlwind month in Starkvegas as the Mississippi State Bulldogs have fired first year head coach Zach Arnett, gone one-and-one on the field and now hired a new coach to lead the program forward.
Kensi Brandenberg joins "The Joe Gaither Show" to discuss the Mississippi State Bulldogs welcoming Jeff Lebby as its next head football coach.
Lebby has high level football experience but has never been a head coach. He's worked in the state of Mississippi, as offensive coordinator for Lane Kiffin and the Ole Miss Rebels and he's worked for current Tennessee coach Josh Heupel at UCF.
How will Lebby fit the culture in Starkville? How will he be different than Arnett, who also was leading a program for the first time.
Lebby got his first professional break in college football under Art Briles and was involved in the scandals at Baylor with Briles. How does that impact Mississippi State fans, in particularly women?
There's a little less than a month until the early-national signing day for football and the transfer portal is about to get crazy, Lebby has a chance for a quick turnaround if he's able to get the proper staff into place and rework the roster in Starkville.
Brandberg takes our attention to basketball where the Bulldogs fell to Georgia Tech in the ACC/SEC Challenge for their first loss of the year. It's the first loss of the year for Chris Jans and the Dogs so how can they get back on track as non-conference play continues.
