The biggest news from Tuesday's Nebraska football press conference had nothing to do with Friday's game against Iowa — except perhaps for the Senior Walk that will precede it.

Defensive lineman Ty Robinson told reporters he has decided to return for a sixth year at Nebraska.

Robinson said he made the decision Sunday after talking it over with his coaches. The 6-foot-6, 310-pound junior said he believes an additional season will help him "sharpen some tools and skills" in his pursuit of an NFL career.

"I put a lot of thought into it," Robinson said. "I was out last winter and spring with an injury, so I only had two months to get ready for football. Coach Rhule and Coach Knighton said they kind of made a joke that when we played last week, it was really Week 3 football for me because that's how far behind I was with football."

Robinson has been credited this season with five pass breakups, nine quarterback hurries and 27 tackles, including one sack and three other tackles for loss. He has played in 46 games as a Husker and started 33.
