Returning for their fifth and sixth years, respectively, are Charlie Kuhbander and Derek Adams. Kuhbander made nine of 12 field goals last year, with a season long of 47 yards. According to The Athletic’s Matt Fortuna, Kuhbander has made 37 of 51 attempts in his four years of playing. Currently, Kuhbander is in seventh place in Northwestern history with 37 made field goals. Behind Kuhbander is sophomore Jack Olsen. Olsen transfers in from Michigan State.

At the punter position, Derek Adams will be in what is likely his last year as the Wildcats punter after transferring from Kent State. Adams averaged 50.8 yards per punt last year, with a season long of 60 yards. Behind Adams is Hunter Renner, a sophomore from Mishakawa, In. In addition, there’s Jake Genyk, a junior from Wisconsin. Neither have seen any playing time in their career.

There are a few players who are listed as a kicker and a punter, however. Those are junior Trey Finison, who did kickoffs for the Wildcats in 2019. In addition, there’s freshman Jacob Tabiban, who may not see playing time this year.

At kick and punt returner, look for receiver Stephon Robinson to get a shot at returning kicks and punts, according to Fortuna. I would also add freshmen receivers Jordan Mosley and Jacob Gill to that list as well. Both are very talented and explosive, and the Northwestern staff may have a hard time keeping them off the field.
