Notre Dame kicks off spring practice this week, which means we get our first glance look at the Fighting Irish offense. The arrival of Mike Denbrock and Riley Leonard have raised expectations for the group, but there is a lot to prove.

Today's Irish Breakdown show previewed the Notre Dame offense as it looks to finally be a unit that can play well enough in the biggest moments to allow the Irish to compete for a championship.

Part I - Overview - Establishing An Identity

In part one of the show I dive into expectations for the Notre Dame offense in the spring. While much of the focus will be on the schematic changes that Mike Denbrock is bringing to the offense, the unit establishing an identity that goes beyond the scheme and leadership emerging are the top priorities.

Part II - Biggest Spring Storylines

Part two of the show looks at the biggest storylines. I talk about Denbrock's offense and how he'll adapt to the specific talent on the roster, Riley Leonard's development within this offense and how developing as a passer is the key to success, the Irish wide receivers, questions about the offensive line and whether or not we'll see a youth movement on offense.

Part III - Position Battles

Part three dives into the biggest position battles that will wage this spring and why they are important. The battles discussed are the backup quarterback battle, right tackle, interior offensive line spots, the wide receiver rotation and how the running back depth chart will shake out.

Part IV - Ranking The Position Groups

In the final section of the show I rank the five position groups for the Notre Dame offense. I rank the quarterbacks, running backs, wide receivers, tight ends and offensive line. This is a look at where they rank heading into the spring and only looks at the players that will be available this spring.
