On3 released its latest recruiting rankings update and the Notre Dame 2024 commits largely saw jumps in the latest update. Some Fighting Irish recruits saw significant jumps up after strong starts to their senior seasons.

Glen Ellyn (Ill.) Glenbard South wide receiver Cam Williams is the highest ranked commit for Notre Dame according to On3. Williams climbed eight spots up to the No. 27 ranking in the latest On3 update. Williams is off to a monster senior season so far,

Lufkin (Texas) High School running back Kedren Young is also off to a huge start this season, both statistically and on film. Young jumped up 21 spots in the latest rankings update, climbing all the way up to No. 71 overall in the rankings.

Charlotte (N.C.) Christian defensive end Bryce Young saw an even bigger jump, going up 75 spots in the latest update. Young is now ranked as the nation's No. 120 overall player according to On3. Young has been extremely impressive on film in early games.

Lakewood (Ohio) St. Edward defensive end Loghan Thomas also saw a rise, although not as great as what we with both Youngs. Thomas climbed up nine spots to No. 160 overall in the latest rankings update.

A pair of offensive linemen are next on the rankings, and both saw very minor dips in the rankings. Hamilton (Ind.) Southeastern offensive tackle Styles Prescod is now ranked No. 184 overall and Roswell (Ga.) High School offensive tackle Anthonie Knapp is now ranked No. 188 overall. Prescod saw just a four spot drop while Knapp saw just a three spot drop in the ranking.

Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco linebacker Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa was dropped completely out of the Top 300 in the previous On3 rankings update. It would appear On3 has been impressed with his strong start to the season, as Viliamu-Asa went from unranked to No. 201 overall in the latest ranking. While that jump is good, Viliamu-Asa should still be ranked much higher in my view. He is a Top 100 player on the IB board.

Charlotte (N.C.) Christian wide receiver Micah Gilbert is off to a great start to the season as well, and he checked in as the No. 245 player in the nation in the latest update. That's close to where he was in the previous ranking, with Gilbert dropping just three spots.

Hannibal (Mo.) High School running back Aneyas Williams climbed up 16 spots in the ranking, checking in as the No. 280 overall player. He is the second Notre Dame running back commit in the On3 Top 300.

Fort Wayne (Ind.) North Side safety Brauntae Johnson fell four spots in the ranking, but he's still in the On3 Top 300 ranking, checking in at No. 298 overall.

There is one player that I left out, and that is Ann Arbor (Mich.) Saline quarterback CJ Carr. He rose one spot in the ranking and checked in as the No. 192 overall player. I still find it one of the most head scratching and puzzling rankings I've ever seen with a Notre Dame commit. Carr ranks as a five-star recruit on the IB board, he is ranked No. 22 overall by Rivals, he's No. 35 overall by ESPN and No. 36 overall by 247Sports. This ranking for Carr is just odd.

Notre Dame has 11 players in the latest On3 Top 300 rankings. There are seven players from the offensive class (Carr, K. Young, A. Williams, C. Williams, Gilbert, Knapp, Prescod) and four from the defensive class (Viliamu-Asa, Thomas, Young, Johnson).

Notre Dame is still working hard to land West Roxbury (Mass.) Catholic Memorial offensive tackle Guerby Lambert, who is one of the top ranked offensive linemen in the country. He is ranked as the No. 28 overall player in the country, which is up eight spots in the latest ranking.

Notre Dame is also trying to flip Nashville (Tenn.) Lipscomb Academy standout cornerback Kaleb Beasley, who is currently committed to Tennessee. It remains to be seen if the Irish have a real shot here, but it's worth noting that Beasley ranks as the No. 101 overall player in the country.
