Notre Dame Commits Rise And Fall In The Final 247Sports Rankings

Notre Dame's 2024 class saw plenty of ups and downs in the final rankings from 247Sports

The final 247Sports recruiting rankings were released today and the Notre Dame class saw some major risers and fallers in the class. As expected from 247Sports, there were a lot of head scratchers.

Notre Dame had five signees from its 2024 class ranked in the Top 100, including three in the Top 50. There was a total of just eight Notre Dame signees in the final Top247 rankings, which is the lowest among all the services.

Charlotte (N.C.) Christian defensive end Bryce Young was Notre Dame's biggest riser, going from a four-star recruit that ranked No. 76 in the country in the rankings at the end of the season to a five-star recruit that finished ranked No. 24 overall. Young ranked as the No. 6 defensive lineman in the nation.

Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco linebacker Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa also saw a jump, rising all the way up to No. 42 in the final rankings. That is a 26-spot jump for Viliamu-Asa, who had a brilliant senior season that he capped off with a strong performance all week at the All-American Bowl. He finished ranked as the No. 4 linebacker in the country.

Saline (Mich.) High School quarterback CJ Carr remained in the Top 50, but he fell eight spots and finished as the No. 45 overall player and the No. 6 quarterback in the class.

Glen Ellyn (Ill.) Glenard South wide receiver Cam Williams had a bizarre drop in the rankings. Despite a dominant senior season, Williams fell 33 spots in the final rankings, going from No. 48 overall to No. 81 overall according to 247Sports. That is by far the lowest ranking for Williams among the four major services. Williams also ranked as just the 16th best wide receiver. Williams earned a five-star grade on the Irish Breakdown board and I have a very hard time believing there are 10 better receivers than him in the country, much less 15.

Boston (Mass.) Catholic Memorial offensive tackle Guerby Lambert rounds out the Notre Dame players in the Top 100 of the 247Sports rankings. He checks in at No. 88 overall, which is down five spots from the end of 2023 rankings. Lambert ranked as the No. 8 offensive tackle in the class.

Lufkin (Texas) High School running back Kedren Young fell eight spots to No. 111 in the rankings. Fort Wayne (Ind.) North Side safety Brauntae Johnson fell 30 spots and finished ranked No. 209. Lakewood (Ohio) St. Edward defensive end Loghan Thomas finishes off the Notre Dame players in the rankings, and he rose six spots to No. 211 overall.

Three Notre Dame players rose in the final 247Sports rankings while five fell in the rankings, which comes as no surprise with this outlet.
