It has been a very busy offseason for 2025 Rabun Gap (Ga.) Nacoochee School star linebacker Antoine Deslauriers, who is arguably the biggest riser of any linebacker in the 2025 recruiting class. Notre Dame is one of a long list of schools that have offered the 6-1, 225-pound defender.

They are one of the main schools who have made a great early impression on Deslauriers, who is still very new to the recruiting process. He is just thankful to be in the position he is.

"Recently, recruitment has really been going well for me,” Deslauriers told Irish Breakdown. "I just received my 20th offer, which is, I believe, an amazing achievement for any football player but I believe that it is maybe more special for a Canadian to be this recognized in football at the university level.

"As far as who has been trending well with me, I have to say that I am happy to be able to really start building a relationship with many different coaches at Notre Dame,” he continued. "Since my offer, we have been talking almost on a daily basis.”

Notre Dame has made such an early impression based on their ability to create relationships. Several Irish coaches are involved with Deslauriers, which shows just how interested they are. The Georgia standout has also already set up two separate visits to South Bend already.

"I’ve been talking with different coaches, including Coach (Marcus) Freeman, almost on a daily basis,” explained Deslauriers. "I believe our relationships are really starting to be great and that’s something I’m really happy about.

"I can’t say I have much expectations since I haven’t been on many other visits, but I heard a lot of good things and I can’t wait to see all that for myself,” Deslauriers added. "As you may know, I have an official visit planned on the 7th-9th of June but my head coach and I will be going on an unofficial visit in early April as well.”

Things are trending in a great direction with Deslauriers. If this momentum continues, Notre Dame will be a tough team to beat in the end.

Even with the 2023 season being his first in the United States, the talented defender has been garnering a lot of interest in recent months. He now holds offers from the Fighting Irish, Miami, Oklahoma, Florida State, Texas A&M, Tennessee, Auburn, Ole Miss, Missouri, Michigan State, NC State, Maryland, Louisville, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia Tech, Syracuse, UCF and Duke among others.

In just his first season with the Eagles in 2023, Deslauriers finished with 72 total tackles in 12 games played. He also collected 18 tackles for loss, two sacks, three interceptions, four quarterback hurries, two forced fumbles and three pass breakups.
