Notre Dame Cornerback Cree Thomas Set For Return Visit

Standout 2025 cornerback Cree Thomas previews first Notre Dame visit since committing to the Irish

Back on November 20th, 2025 Phoenix (Az.) Brophy College Prep cornerback Cree Thomas committed to Notre Dame, giving the Irish their lone cornerback in the 2025 class so far. Leading up to that commitment, Thomas had visiting South Bend for two different game visits in a three week period.

For the first time since committing, Thomas is heading back to Notre Dame this weekend. The Arizona native is excited to get back to his new Irish family.

"I’m super excited to be back at Notre Dame for the first time as a commit,” Thomas told Irish Breakdown. "I’m excited to see all of the commits in person and continue to build relationships. I’m also ready to talk to some of the targets we have.”

Thinking back on the decision he made, there are zero regrets from Thomas. His relationships with the class and coaches have only solidified things more and more since then.

"I’m extremely happy about my decision and I definitely think it was the right one,” Thomas explained. "With the amazing football tradition, the support from all the coaches, the amazing academics, and a space to continue my faith with God there are only positives to my decision.

"We have a commit group chat so our relationships have been building stronger and stronger by the day,” he continued. "All the commits talk to each other and connect on a daily basis. I’m in constant contact with all of the coaches so our relationships are only getting deeper.”

Getting back with the other commits is going to be a big part of the weekend, as are the coaches. Thomas also has a chance to help to add to the class as a recruiter.

"Collectively as a group. I think it is important that the commits help the uncommitted players understand the magnitude of the opportunity and everything Notre Dame can offer,” he explained. "Being the number one recruiting class right now, we have the opportunity to do something special here at Notre Dame and we need like-minded players to be a part of it.”

The Arizona native had quickly attracted the attention of several prominent PAC 12 schools prior to his decision, including holding offers from Oregon, Arizona State, Arizona and Cal early on. Thomas also held offers from the Fighting Irish, Wisconsin and Purdue among others.

The 6-1, 170-pound cornerback is coming off of a outstanding sophomore campaign for Brophy College Prep. Thomas locked down one of the cornerback positions, finishing the season with 33 total tackles, one interception and six pass breakups. He also added in 1.5 tackles for loss and a half of a sack, while also being the team’s main kick and punt returner.

As a junior, Thomas was even better. In 13 games, he collected 43 total tackles, five interceptions and four more pass breakups. One of his interceptions was returned for a touchdown.

Since committing to Notre Dame, Thomas was elevated to five-star status by Rivals. He currently sits as the No. 224 overall player and No. 26 cornerback in the 2025 recruiting class on that ranking.
