Since camping at Notre Dame last offseason, the Irish staff has prioritized 2025 Las Vegas (Nev.) Bishop Gorman standout pass catcher Derek Meadows. The staff has been working diligently to get Meadows, which will happen this weekend. Meadows verified with Irish Breakdown that he will be checking out spring practice this Saturday, March 23rd.

Getting Meadows back on campus will be huge. He has really blown up this offseason while on the 7-on-7 circuit. Notre Dame was on him very early, which is beneficial, but they will have to outlast some heavy hitters. Programs like Alabama, Georgia, LSU and Michigan have thrown in offers this spring, and the Crimson Tide staff made a strong impression on him while they were still at Washington.

Meadows has clearly been a priority target for the Notre Dame coaching staff since his outstanding performance at last summer's Irish Invasion camp. At that event Meadows showed off a unique blend of speed, athleticism and size. While his game is still a work in progress, a case could be made very few receivers in this class possess his blend of skills and upside.

Irish 2025 quarterback commit Deuce Knight will also be there on campus while Meadows is there.

Bishop Gorman is coming off of a 12-0 undefeated season in 2023, with Meadows serving as a big play threat for the team. On 15 catches as a junior, he exploded for 391 yards and eight touchdowns. That is an impressive 26.1 yards per reception, showcasing his explosiveness at 6-5 and 185 pounds.

Meadows is currently rated as a consensus four-star player by every major recruiting platform. He ranks highest according to 247Sports, currently slotted as the No. 32 overall player and No. 5 wide receiver in the 2025 recruiting class. Both On3 and Rivals have Meadows ranked as a top 100 player, sitting at No. 57 and No. 64 respectively.

With Meadows’ insane athletic gifts, it should be no surprise that schools like Notre Dame, Georgia, Alabama, Michigan, LSU, Florida, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Auburn, Washington, Arizona, Michigan State, Utah, Cal, BYU, Iowa State and Maryland are all pushing hard for him.
