Notre Dame Is A "Very Special Place" For Star Tight End Brock Harris
Notre Dame extended over 100 offers on Sunday to some of the top players in the 2026 recruiting class. Their annual Pot of Gold was an event, bringing notoriety to themselves and those recruits they are targeting. That includes Saint George (Utah) Pine View star tight end Brock Harris, who has a claim as one of the most dominant tight ends in the country.
Notre Dame had been doing their homework on Harris for some time now even before the event. They were even out to see him during the most recent open period, with new offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock making a great early impression.
Despite having not been to South Bend yet, Harris has a high opinion of the Irish program. The Pot of Gold was a great moment to showcase the program’s reach.
“Notre Dame is a very special place,” Harris told Irish Breakdown. “There is so much history of greatness there. I am very proud of this one. I think it will be interesting to see the direction of the program. I like the coaches a lot.
“I knew I had the offer for a while and I thought it was pretty cool that they were doing this big reveal type event,” he added. “I was really honored to be a part of it.”
Considered a potentially elite prospect in the 2026 class, Harris is hearing from a ton of schools already. The travel plans are already taking place, with a stop in South Bend on the table this summer.
“The recruiting process has been really good,” explained Harris. “I am just having fun with it because I can’t really commit anywhere and so there’s no stress yet. It’s coming though. I am going to be visiting BYU this Wednesday, University of Washington this Saturday, and Utah sometime this month.
“Hopefully, I will be getting to Texas and Baylor in April, as well as Georgia in May,” Harris continued. “Then this summer I plan on doing several visits including Notre Dame, Ohio State, Michigan and several SEC schools.”
Although communication is a little limited, Harris does have a good early opinion of the Irish. The two sides have gotten along well so far.
“It’s really hard with me being at my age,” Harris said. “They can’t really reach out and I am not the best at reaching out to coaches from anywhere. I have been busy but when I talk to them, there’s a really good vibe with them and I think we get along great.”
The 6-5, 230-pound pass catcher is already a player that is highly rated as a recruit. He currently sits as a four-star player by On3, 247Sports and Rivals, the three sites who have rated him thus far. The latter has him rated the highest, currently sitting as the No. 20 overall player in the 2026 recruiting class.
Harris has heard from a lot of big time programs as well so far. He currently holds offers from Georgia, Alabama, Michigan, Florida State, Miami, USC, Oklahoma, Penn State, Oregon, Texas A&M, Washington, Tennessee, Auburn, Wisconsin, Oklahoma State, Arizona, Arizona State, Washington State and BYU among others.
An elite tight end in 2026, Harris really impressed as a sophomore in 2023. He finished second on Pine View with 55 receptions for 665 yards and eight touchdowns. Harris averaged 12.1 yards per reception and had a long reception of 44 yards on the season.
