On January 6th, there will be five 2024 signees set to participate in the All-American Bowl down in San Antonio. The Notre Dame faithful will be turning in to see some of the future Irish stars in action.

The fans will also be waiting anxiously to see 2025 Chicago (Ill.) Simeon star defensive end Christopher Burgess make his college decision live. The Chicago native had previously made it known that his announcement would come several weeks ago but on Wednesday, the finalists were announced.

Notre Dame did make the final four for Burgess, who are viewed as a strong contender to land him down the stretch. Aside from the Irish, Alabama, Michigan and Ohio State made the final group.

Ever since Burgess was offered by Notre Dame last St. Patrick’s Day during the Pot of Gold, he instantly became a priority for them. Keeping the elite Chicago talent at home in South Bend is a big key under Marcus Freeman.

The 6-4, 240-pound pass rusher is considered a consensus four-star recruit by every major recruiting platform. Burgess ranks highest by Rivals, who has him pegged as the No. 61 overall player and No. 6 EDGE in the 2025 recruiting class. A former AAU basketball player, Burgess is just scratching the surface for how good he can be.

Burgess has put together an absolutely ridiculous offer list up until now l, including some of the premier programs in all of college football. Some of those notable offers include the Irish, Georgia, Alabama, Michigan, Ohio State, Oregon, LSU, Miami, Tennessee, Auburn, Wisconsin, Nebraska, USC, Florida, Washington, Texas A&M, Michigan State, Iowa, Ole Miss, Louisville, Arizona State, Purdue, Illinois, Colorado, Indiana, Boston College, Maryland, Missouri, Minnesota, Georgia Tech and Cincinnati among others.
