Three Notre Dame Commits Capped Off High School Careers At US Army Bowl

Recapping performances by Notre Dame commits Micah Gilbert, Bodie Kahoun, and Leonard Moore during US Arm Bowl

On Monday night, 80 of the top recruits in the 2024 recruiting class met in the 2023 U.S. Army Bowl in Frisco, Texas. The showcase was put on by Signing Day Sports, and took place at The Ford Center.

A part of a deep and talented roster, three future Notre Dame players were suited up. That included wide receiver Micah Gilbert, linebacker Bodie Kahoun, and cornerback Leonard Moore.

The game was an offensive onslaught with the Gold Team dominating the Black Team 62-37. Kahoun and Moore were on the winning team, while Gilbert was playing for the Black Team.

Kahoun put together a solid showing, including five total tackles and a tackle for loss for the winning team. That concluded a tremendous senior campaign for Kahoun, who totaled 203 total tackles, 29 tackles for loss, and nine sacks. He was named a semifinalist for the Dick Butkus Award several weeks ago, given to the top linebacker in high school football.

Moore did not record a statistic during the game. Overall it was an injury plagued senior season that limited Moore to just six games. In total, Moore collected 21 tackles, one interception, and two pass breakups. Moore will be competing in track and field this spring before enrolling with Notre Dame during the summer.

Despite being on the losing end, Gilbert did turn in a good performance. He collected four receptions for 41 yards on the day. That comes after an absolutely dominant season, including 76 receptions for 1,105 yards and 10 touchdowns. Gilbert will be enrolling at Notre Dame in January.
