Ohio State Lands Commitment from 2024 G Colin White: 'Felt Like Home!'
The Ohio State Buckeyes and coach Chris Holtmann landed their second commitment in the class of 2024 on Sunday.
The Buckeyes earned an in-state pledge from 2024 Ottawa-Glandorf (Ottawa, Ohio) guard Colin White, who announced that he's chosen Ohio State over programs like Butler, TCU, Northwestern and Cincinnati. White was also fielding offers from notable teams like West Virginia, Nebraska, Stanford and Nevada.
White, a three-star talent per 247Sports who stands 6-6, 180, will now join 2024 Wasatch Academy (Mount Pleasant, Utah) guard John Mobley Jr. as the only other current 2024 commit for Ohio State. Mobley Jr. announced his commitment in October 2022.
“I chose Ohio State because it felt like home,” White told On3. “I have a great relationship with the coaches and the players that made me want to be there. Their play style and ability to develop guards is also another reason why it is a great place to be.”
It didn't take long for the Buckeyes to land White, as they offered him on July 21. But now, Holtmann and staff are getting someone who already looks ready to embrace the culture.
“They are getting someone that is going to give everything to the Buckeyes," White said. "I am ready to work and make Buckeye nation proud.”
The Buckeyes will begin the 2023-24 season on Monday, Nov. 6 at home against Oakland.
