The Ohio State Buckeyes got their ninth win of the season on Saturday, defeating the UCLA Bruins in the CBS Sports Classic, 67-60.

Sophomore guard Roddy Gayle Jr. led the Buckeyes on the stat sheet with 19 points and six rebounds, which were the most and second-most on the team respectively.

Senior forward Jamison Battle had the next best scoring total with 14 points, followed by sophomore guard Bruce Thornton with 13 points. Thornton finished with a team-high seven rebounds and four assists as well.

Ohio State won the contest despite an abysmal, three-point shooting percentage.

The Buckeyes went 1-of-15 from beyond the arc for a conversion rate of just under seven percent. Luckily for the Scarlet and Gray, the Bruins were not much better from the same spot, recording 11 percent by making just one of their nine attempts.

Ohio State made up for their deep-shooting struggles with a 44.6 percent clip from the floor, and a 76.2 percent rate at the free-throw line. UCLA underperformed in both of those categories with 38 percent and 61 percent respectively.

Saturday's game contained 18 lead changes and nine ties between Ohio State and UCLA. The Bruins had a scoreboard advantage for almost ten-and-a-half minutes, while the Buckeyes were on top for just over 24 minutes.

The Ohio State Buckeyes are back in action at home on Wednesday, December 21 against the New Orleans Privateers. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m. at the Scottenstein Center, with live coverage airing on Big Ten Plus.
