Former Ohio State Buckeyes quarterback C.J. Stroud is now immortalized at the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio, following a record-breaking performance two weeks ago.

Stroud's five-touchdown outing led the Houston Texans past the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 39-37 on Sunday, November 5.

The 470 passing yards Stroud compiled during the game broke a long-standing record for NFL rookies. St. Louis Rams quarterback Marc Bulger held the previous mark with a 453-yard showing during the 2002 season.

Stroud has been making waves in the NFL over his first season at the professional level. The Inland Empire, California-native has racked up 2,626 passing yards and 15 touchdowns over nine games this season, with just two interceptions.

The Week Nine performance against the Buccaneers was the fourth contest in which Stroud threw for 300 yards or more, along with September 17 against the Indianapolis Colts (384 yards), October 1 against the Pittsburgh Steelers (306 yards) and November 12 against the Cincinnati Bengals (356 yards).

These performances have led to several fans and members of the media calling Stroud a favorite to win the NFL's Offensive Rookie of the Year award at the end of the season.

With Ohio State, Stroud compiled a 69.3 percent completion percentage (575-of-830), along with a touchdowns-to-interceptions ratio of 85-to-12. Stroud led the Buckeyes to the postseason in both of his years as the starting quarterback, including the 2023 Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl against the No. 1 Georgia Bulldogs.

Stroud and the Texans host the Arizona Cardinals this Sunday, November 19. Kick-off for the game is set for 1 p.m., with live coverage airing on CBS.
