LOOK: Former Buckeyes QB Justin Fields Makes Charitable Donation To Special Olympics
Former Ohio State Buckeyes and Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields is one of the best all-around signal callers in the NFC, and he's also just a really good person.
Fields donated $10,000 to Special Olympics Illinois as part of Dunkin' Donuts' 20th Annual Cop On A Rooftop fundraiser in the Chicago area on May 19. Fields said he established his foundation to help young people and their development.
"The foundation really came from just trying to help the community, trying to strengthen the community in all areas," Fields told Fox32 Chicago. "I really just wanted to do that through grants in areas of youth empowerment, leadership development, scholastic achievement and health and wellness. [This is] the first opportunity we got and we're definitely excited for it, so it's an awesome opportunity for sure."
The Kennesaw, GA. native was accompanied at the event by his father Pablo Fields, who is a retired police sergeant from Atlanta. Justin Fields said Pablo Fields is his "biggest mentor."
"I definitely had a lot of great mentors growing up," Justin Fields said. "Just thankful for them because without them I wouldn't be who I am today."
This isn't the first time Justin Fields has worked with the Chicago community in his career, either, as he spent time and shared life experiences with over 20 students at Breakthrough Urban Ministries on Dec. 27, 2022.
