Former Ohio State Buckeyes guard Michael Jordan signed with the Carolina Panthers Thursday on a one-year deal.

Jordan has played the past two seasons in Carolina, appearing in all 17 games last season and scored the Panthers' lone touchdown in their 10-7 season finale victory against the New Orleans Saints Jan. 8. In 2019-20, Jordan spent his first two years in the league with the Cincinnati Bengals after being drafted by them in the fourth round and the No. 136 selection of the 2020 NFL Draft.

In his 55-game NFL career, the 6-6, 315-pound offensive lineman has started 29 games.

Jordan joins fellow Buckeyes safety Vonn Bell and wide receiver C.J. Saunders, whom he played with at Ohio State during the 2017-18 seasons, on the Panthers.

The Canton, MI. native will compete against other guards Austin Corbett, Brady Christensen, Justin McCray and the Panthers' 2023 fourth-round draftee Chandler Zavala for playing time, but will likely serve in a backup capacity if he makes the roster after final cuts following the conclusion of the preseason.

If he can make the final roster and garner snaps, he'll be blocking for the new face of the Panthers' franchise in No. 1 overall pick former Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback Bryce Young.

At Ohio State, Jordan started every game he played in his three-year career, earning Second Team All-Big Ten in 2018.
